Defensive football players listen up. One of most celebrated coaches in the National Football League is coming to Morgan State for a Coaches Clinic, Saturday, April 27th in the George W.F. McMechen Building from 10:00 A.M.-11:30 A.M. Morgan's first-year coach Don Hill and his staff will host the clinic and new Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Marvin Lewis will be the guest speaker.

Morgan Legend: Roosevelt Brown

Roosevelt Brown is one of the best NFL lineman ever. And he’s this week’s legend in Morgan State history.  The Black All-America at Morgan came out of Bear country in 1952 at the ripe age of 20 and joined the New York Giants. He immediately earned a starting role for New York and held it for 13 seasons.

The Morgan State Bears football team kicked off spring practice on April 3rd in preparation for a tough 2002 season that has them on the road in seven out of 12 games. New coach Don Hill may be excited about the 2002 Bears, who have a solid nucleus returning on offense and defense.

NCAA Passes Proposal for NBA Bound High School Players

The NCAA is one step closer to allowing high school players to be drafted and still play in college after the management council passed the proposal to the board of directors April 8 in Denver, CO. If the NCAA board of directors approves the rule later this month then many high school juniors could enter the 2003 NBA draft as seniors.

Most of the world calls it "la juga bonita" which means, "The beautiful game." Soccer is the most popular game worldwide, being played in at least 80 percent of the countries in five continents. It is a game that is enjoyed by people of all countries. It can serve as a bridge to cultural division and a venue for some of the greatest athletic talent and accomplishments in the world.
